As Christians we are accustomed to giving regularly of our tithes and offerings. However many of us may not have realized that we can give gifts that will keep on giving long after we have gone to our eternal rewards.
The Stewardship Department of the United Pentecostal Church International has made it possible for us to continue to support our local church and worldwide ministries while we live and after we are gone to be with the Lord.
There are several design models from which the donor can choose in the preparation of their last will and testament and estate plan. The Stewardship Department will be glad to assist you in choosing your estate design at no cost or obligation to you. While there will always be a need for pledges and cash contributions to Global Missions, we feel the interest generated from endowments to the United Pentecostal Church International foundation can greatly enhance our work.
Global Missions Division is currently promoting endowments in the following areas:
The purpose of the Administrative Endowment is to permanently fund the administrative cost to operate the Global Missions Division, thus reducing the amount contributed from missionary accounts. Our goal is to have enough funds in this endowment to be able to totally pay for administration without any contributions from missionary accounts. The Global Missions Division will only use the interest earned from this endowment and the principle will remain in the foundation, continuing to provide funds for future use.
The Compassion Endowments purpose is to have funds on deposit to respond immediately when confronted with a disaster or emergency need. When disasters happen, we do not have time to appeal to our constituents for contributions before we respond to the need. We would be able to use the principle and interest from this endowment as approved by the Global Missions administration, when needs occur.
The Evangelism and Leadership Training Endowment was created so we can subsidize evangelism and overseas training. It is the goal of the Global Missions Division to evangelize the world. However, we need to realize the Great Commission has two parts go preach and teach. Along with evangelism we must teach our converts and develop them for ministry and leadership. Our missionary accounts are dedicated to funding evangelism and training, but it is not enough. We would be able to use the principle and interest from this endowment as approved by the Global Missions administration for evangelism and training opportunities.
The Open Door Endowment would allow Global Mission to respond quickly when a door of opportunity opens suddenly. Rather than having to appoint personnel and send them on extended deputation, we could place key individuals on location immediately while appointing and funding long-term missionaries. There are several fields that are closed to resident missionaries that could open in the future. We need to be ready to respond when the Lord opens these doors. We would be able to use the principle and interest from this endowment as approved by Global Missions administration when doors of opportunity open.
