Endowments
PLANNED GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
While Christians are accustomed to giving regularly through tithes and offerings, many may not realize that planned gifts can provide ministry support long after we have received our eternal rewards. The Stewardship Group of the United Pentecostal Church International has established opportunities for you to continue supporting local and worldwide ministries during your lifetime and beyond.
Charitable Gift Annuity
A Charitable Gift Annuity with the United Pentecostal Foundation provides lifetime fixed annuity payments and potential future support for Global Missions of the United Pentecostal Church. The annuity payment rate is determined by your age and whether the annuity covers one or two individuals.
Benefits
• Tax Advantages: Receive an immediate tax deduction for a portion of the annuity as allowed by the IRS
• Tax-Free Income: A portion of annual income payments may be tax-free
• Capital Gains Treatment: When funded with appreciated assets such as real estate, stocks, bonds, or mutual funds, a portion of your payment may receive favorable capital gains tax treatment
• Legacy Support: Upon death, if a balance remains it can support Global Missions, UPCI. This can be added to an endowment established in your name to fund the future of Global Missions or you may designate it at the discretion of the Global Missions Board.
Please note: State regulations may restrict the United Pentecostal Foundation from offering Charitable Gift Annuities in certain jurisdictions.
Life Insurance Beneficiary Designation
Supporting Global Missions through life insurance beneficiary designation offers a simple and effective giving option. By naming Global Missions as a beneficiary on your life insurance policy—whether new or existing—you can bless the Kingdom through a percentage or fixed amount designation.
ENDOWMENT FUNDS
Four endowments have been established to support distinct areas of ministry:
1. Administrative Endowment
This endowment permanently funds the administrative costs of operating the Global Missions Division, reducing the financial burden on missionary accounts. The ultimate goal is to fully cover administrative expenses through endowment interest, with the principal remaining intact to provide perpetual funding.
2. Compassion Endowment
This fund enables immediate response to disasters and emergency needs, ensuring resources are available when urgent humanitarian crises arise.
3. Evangelism and Leadership Endowment
This endowment subsidizes evangelism efforts and overseas training initiatives. Recognizing that the Great Commission encompasses both preaching and teaching, this fund supports both evangelism and leadership development. The principal and interest may be utilized as approved by Global Missions administration.
4. Open Door Endowment
This fund enables rapid response when unexpected ministry opportunities arise. Rather than delaying for extended deputation, key personnel can be deployed immediately while long-term missionaries are appointed and funded. This is particularly valuable for fields currently closed to resident missionaries that may open in the future. Both principal and interest are available for use as approved by Global Missions administration.
Wills and Bequests
Including Global Missions in your will or living trust creates lasting impact by supporting missionaries and transforming lives.
