Steven, son of T. Wynn and Wanda Drost, and Danita, daughter of Ron and Joy Hanscom, were both raised on the mission field, where they developed a deep love for God, His people, and the work of global missions. Their shared calling naturally drew them together while attending Bible college, where they met and married.
Just two weeks after their wedding, Steven and Danita began their missionary journey by driving to Mexico to serve through the Associates In Missions (AIM) program. Their first assignment was in Mexico City, where they planted a thriving church that became the birthplace of numerous daughter works, significantly expanding the reach of the gospel in the region.
As the ministry continued to flourish, Steven was appointed National Youth Director and also served in various leadership roles on the District Board. Recognizing that God had called them to a lifetime of missionary service, Steven and Danita applied for Career Missionary appointment in October 1997. Following deputation, they returned to Mexico and settled in Reynosa, Tamaulipas.
During the next fourteen years, Steven served as District Superintendent of the Tamaulipas District while also being elected National Secretary of the United Pentecostal Church of Mexico. Danita faithfully served as the National Sunday School Director, helping strengthen children’s ministries across the nation. Under their leadership, the Tamaulipas District experienced remarkable growth and became one of the strongest and most influential districts within the United Pentecostal Church of Mexico.
After fourteen years of ministry in Tamaulipas, the National Council requested that Steven and Danita relocate to Guadalajara, Jalisco, to provide leadership in western Mexico. Following their third deputation, they moved with their family to Guadalajara in November 2010.
Steven was elected Superintendent of the Oeste District, encompassing the states of Jalisco and Colima, and also assumed leadership of the Pacifico District, serving Nayarit. In March 2018, with the formation of the Mar de Cortés District, which includes Baja California Sur and Sinaloa, Steven was appointed as its founding Superintendent, providing oversight and leadership while mentoring and developing emerging ministers and district leaders.
In addition to his district responsibilities, Steven serves as the National Director of Education for the United Pentecostal Church of Mexico, overseeing Bible schools and ministerial training programs throughout the country. Danita currently serves as the National Ladies Director, leading and equipping women across Mexico through discipleship, leadership development, and ministry initiatives.
In 2020 Steven was elected the General Superintendent of the United Pentecostal Church of Mexico. With that new ministerial opportunity they relocated to Mexico City and are currently pastoring four different thriving congregations. Since 2020, they have also established two new Bible schools in Mexico City. On December 22, 2025, by the help and grace of God, they were able to accomplish a long standing goal, that was the purchase of a building right in the heart of Mexico City that will function as the first UPCI Mexico Headquarters and central Bible school. They are currently raising donations to completely renovate the newly purchased building to fulfill those functions.
For more than three decades, Steven and Danita have faithfully dedicated their lives to advancing the kingdom of God through church planting, leadership development, discipleship, and mentoring the next generation of ministers. Their ministry has been marked by a passion for revival, a commitment to biblical truth, and a desire to see strong, self-sustaining churches established throughout Mexico. Their enduring influence continues to shape the future of the United Pentecostal Church of Mexico and inspire those called to missions around the world.
