Jason and Cori Lucas received their missionary appointment to Japan in 2021 and arrived in Tokyo in March 2023. During their first six months on the field, they served as furlough replacements for Richard and Jean Lucas, assisting multiple churches throughout the Tokyo area as well as a daughter work in Osaka.
In 2024, Jason was elected as the Asia Short-Term Missions representative. Together, he and Cori have hosted multiple AIM participants during their first term, along with a Next Steps program in 2025. Jason is fluent in the Japanese language, and Cori completed 18 months of formal language study at a university in Tokyo from April 2024 to November 2025.
In 2026, Jason became the pastor of Haijima United Pentecostal Church in West Tokyo, where his ministry has emphasized the training and development of leaders and ministers. Looking ahead, they carry a vision to start ten churches in ten years and to establish a full-time Bible school in the Japanese language.
